Terms of use
Terms of service
These terms set out how variis works, what you can do with our content, and what you can expect from us. We have written them to be readable rather than defensive. If anything is unclear, write to us and we will explain.

Acceptance
By using variis (the website at variis.co or its subdomains, the newsletter, or any related service), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be flagged to account holders by email where reasonable.
Who variis is
variis is a longevity intelligence publication published by [Company legal name], [Company registration number], with a registered address at [Registered business address]. Where we refer to "we", "us", or "variis" in these terms, we mean that entity.
The service
variis publishes editorial content about longevity science, protocols, clinics, markets, and policy for readers in Singapore and Australia. This includes articles, briefings, comparisons, databases, and a newsletter.
The content is provided for informational purposes only. It is not medical, legal, financial, or investment advice. You should not act on variis content without seeking qualified professional guidance in your jurisdiction.
What you may do
As a reader, you may:
- Read the site and subscribe to the newsletter.
- Create an account, save items, and build comparisons.
- Share links to individual pages with attribution to variis.
- Quote short excerpts (typically a sentence or two) with a link back to the source page.
These permissions extend to personal, non-commercial use and to normal editorial citation by other publications.
What you may not do
Without our prior written permission, you may not:
- Republish, redistribute, or resell variis content in whole or in substantial part.
- Scrape, crawl at scale, or bulk-download the site.
- Use variis content to train machine learning models or any similar system.
- Misrepresent variis as endorsing a product, treatment, clinic, or organisation.
- Attempt to circumvent paywalls, rate limits, authentication, or other security measures.
- Use the service for unlawful purposes, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
We take these limits seriously because independent longevity reporting depends on them.
Accounts
Accounts on variis are for individuals, not organisations. If your team wants shared access, contact us about a group arrangement.
You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account. We use magic-link authentication, which means access to your account depends on access to your inbox; please keep it secure. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms, or where we are required to do so by law.
User content
If you contact us with corrections, story tips, feedback, or other material, you grant variis a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, quote, or reference that material in our editorial work.
Where appropriate and where you have not asked to remain anonymous, we will attribute you. You warrant that any material you send us is yours to share and does not breach confidentiality or third-party rights.
Intellectual property
All variis content is copyright [Company legal name] unless attributed otherwise. Our word marks, logo, and visual system are ours.
Sources cited on the site (studies, publications, images, data providers) retain their own copyright and are used under fair dealing, licence, or with permission. If you believe we have misused your work, write to us and we will act quickly.
Medical disclaimer
variis reports on longevity science and practice. Our content is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional medical judgment, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard advice from a qualified clinician because of something you read on variis. See our full statement at /medical-disclaimer.
Third-party links and content
variis links out to third-party sources including studies, clinics, companies, and government bodies. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of third-party sites, and a link is not an endorsement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, variis and its publishers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded by law. For readers in Australia, this includes non-excludable guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the service or refunding fees paid for it.
Termination
You may stop using variis at any time. You can close your account by writing to us or by using the account controls where available.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, for prolonged inactivity, or where required by law. Content, features, and prices may change or be withdrawn; we will give reasonable notice where a change materially affects paying subscribers.
Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.
For readers in Australia, non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply and are not limited by these terms. For readers elsewhere, if any part of these terms is unenforceable under the local law of your jurisdiction, that part will be read down or replaced by the closest enforceable equivalent, and the rest of the terms will continue to apply.
If you have a dispute with variis, please raise it first at legal@variis.co so we can try to resolve it directly. Unresolved disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore, except where the local law of your jurisdiction requires that proceedings be brought elsewhere.
