About
A longevity intelligence publication for Singapore and Australia.
variis reports on the science, business, and policy of living longer, with the discipline of a financial newsroom. We source every claim, grade the evidence, and refuse to overclaim. Reading is free.
What variis is
variis is a longevity intelligence publication anchored in Singapore and Australia. We cover the science, protocols, clinics, capital, and policy shaping how people in this region age. Every article is evidence-graded, meaning each claim carries a visible signal of how strong the underlying evidence is (from randomised trial to expert opinion). The publication is free to read. Readers who want deeper primary-source access can subscribe.
We write for clinicians, operators, investors, policymakers, and the small but growing number of people who take their own healthspan seriously enough to read past the headline.
What we cover
Five pillars, in plain language:
Healthspan science
The biology of ageing and the interventions that credibly move the needle on it. New trials, meta-analyses, and mechanistic work, translated without hype.
Protocols and interventions
What people are actually doing: nutrition, training, sleep, pharmacology, supplementation. What the evidence supports, what it does not, and what remains genuinely unknown.
Longevity clinics and care
The clinics, diagnostics, and care models emerging across the region. Pricing, standards, staffing, outcomes where they exist.
Markets and capital
The companies, funds, and deals building the longevity economy. Who is raising, who is shipping, what the unit economics look like.
Policy and regulation
How Singapore's Ministry of Health, the TGA in Australia, data-protection regimes, and reimbursement frameworks shape what patients can access and what operators can build.
How we work
Every piece moves through a four-gate credibility model: source, draft, verify, brand. Sources are logged with primary links. Drafts are graded for claim strength. Verification is a separate pass against the sourced material. The final gate checks tone, house style, and disclosure. The full methodology sits at /editorial-standards.
AI is used in parts of the drafting pipeline, disclosed openly at /ai. It does not decide what is true. Every published piece is reviewed and approved by a named human editor, currently [Reviewer Name], who carries the byline responsibility.
What variis is not
variis is not medical advice. Nothing on the site should be read as a personal recommendation, and readers should consult a qualified clinician before acting on anything they see here.
variis is not a clinic directory in the recommender sense. We report on clinics, we do not rank or route patients to them, and we take no fees from providers we cover.
variis is not a stock tip service. We cover markets and capital as a beat, not as a signal.
variis is not a peer-reviewed research journal. We report on the literature, we do not add to it.
Why Singapore and Australia
Both markets are moving unusually fast on longevity. Singapore has a national healthy-ageing agenda, a dense clinical and biotech base, and PDPA as its data regime. Australia has a strong primary-care tradition, active longevity clinic build-out, and the Privacy Act reforms currently reshaping how health data is handled. Covering both together, and nothing else, is a deliberate editorial choice. Geographic discipline is how a small newsroom stays useful.
