Micro-X Limited

Micro-X designs and manufactures X-ray and CT imaging hardware built on carbon-nanotube ("cold cathode") emitters, which let the tube be far smaller and lighter than conventional thermionic X-ray tubes. Its commercial product is the Rover / Rover Plus mobile digital radiography unit, a portable X-ray system used where patients cannot easily be moved to a fixed radiology suite: emergency departments, intensive care, operating theatres, remote and field settings. In development is an ultra-lightweight head CT scanner intended to be carried in an ambulance so that stroke can be imaged and triaged before the patient reaches hospital, plus earlier-stage portable full-body CT and lung CT work. The longevity relevance is infrastructural rather than therapeutic: it addresses point-of-care imaging for immobile and frail patients and time-to-diagnosis in stroke, a condition whose incidence rises sharply with age. It is not a geroscience or ageing-biology company, and the Micro-X site does not itself market Rover as an aged-care product, so the aged-care framing should be treated as an inference about the use case rather than a company claim. Micro-X also sells non-medical security screening products (baggage and checkpoint scanners), so medical imaging is only part of the revenue base.
